Epilepsy Foundation Greater Los Angeles Officially Merged with the Epilepsy Foundation

Local Programs and Services to Remain and Increase under Merger

Dear Friends of the Foundation,

Our Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles (EFGLA) has officially merged with the Epilepsy Foundation. We are now legally one organization. The two-year process towards merger has been carefully led by and was unanimously approved by our EFGLA Board of Directors.

Under the merger, what we have been building at the EFGLA will influence the Epilepsy Foundation and set an example of the strength of greater cooperation and alignment. We believe this will result in a stronger national organization focused on research and services, while also mobilizing the community in the fight to END EPILEPSY®.

As part of the merger, the Epilepsy Foundation has established a new Marketing Department based here in Los Angeles. The Epilepsy Foundation will launch the END EPILEPSY movement and Walk to End Epilepsy nationwide, and extend the impact of our Care & Cure Institute beyond this region.

It seems like a big change – but we only anticipate our local programs and services will remain and even increase.

We want to introduce you to Azita Fatheree, our new President, and Rebekkah Halliwell, our new Executive Director at our EFGLA Chapter. Azita has been a parent advocate with us for more than 16 years and Rebekkah has been on our EFGLA team for more than 13 years.

We are grateful for your past and continued support.

Sincerely,

Steven Baum, Past Board President

Susan Pietsch-Escueta, Previous Executive Director
